Earlier this week, we had lunch at one of the many new food trucks that roam around downtown, Fresh Local Wild. The food truck trend started late last summer and has been slowly, but surely, been continuing to grow over the past year. This place guarantees food that is, well, fresh and local, as the name implies. The selections for Tuesday were three different sandwiches, two different salads and three different types of fish for fish and chips. My guess is that the menu changes each day, with maybe a couple of items that are there everyday. The food was a bit more pricier than we expected (we only paid $6 to try tiny little sandwiches at Roaming Dragon), but it was substantial and satisfying Hubby chose their chicken club and I chose the tuna melt sandwich. Hubby's sandwich was MONSTROUS, I'm fairly certain he had a full chicken breast in that sandwich. He gave me a bite, and it was very good. I love the mayo they used in the sandwich; it's this herby, slightly spicy mayo that I think they make themselves. My tuna melt was quite filling; it had smoked cheddar which worked quite well with the seared albacore tuna and I loved the squirrely bread they used (we call any bread that has lots of seeds and grains or whatnot squirrely bread). Good lunch indeed!
Below are pictures from the past week's plan, as well as pictures of our food from Fresh Local Wild. Have a fantastic two weeks, I shall return with pictures of our Aussie food adventures! Happy cooking all!
