The restaurant is incredibly tiny, but very warm and inviting. There are four tables (one for a group of four and three for pairs that can be pushed together), plus one taller table with bar stools. They then have the bar with about 8-ish seats all around. Definitely more of a quick bite scene, but it was pretty hopping by the time we left.
The SocialShopper deal allowed us to get a charcuterie plate for two with cheeses, one order of bruschetta and a pair of wine samples each (hubby did the white, I did the red). We chose the Anatra bruschetta, which had duck prosciutto, goat cheese and arugula. The flavors all worked quite well together and there was also the most DELICIOUS pesto on the plate to with it. Hubby was lamenting that there wasn't more of the prosciutto, but I quite enjoyed the ratio of ingredients.
The charcuterie platter was quite lovely; we were given five different meats, three different cheeses, bread slices, walnuts, caramelized figs and some mixed greens. I quite enjoyed the spicy sopressata; it had heat, but it wasn't overwhelming (hubby was quite disappointed that I wasn't running for the hills after my first bite). I also really liked the speck (smoked prosciutto); the smoke flavor wasn't too overpowering and it tasted great with the brie.
Hubby and I were still feeling a bit peckish after finishing the charcuterie, so we perused the menu for another dish to share. We couldn't decide between one of the paninis (which they've garnered quite the reputation for) or the house-made veal ravioli, but ended up sharing the ravioli. WOW. The sage butter was very delicate and gave a nice flavor to the veal, which was made even more heavenly with the fresh shaved Parmesan. Yum!
We then had the banana bread with chocolate marscapone and vanilla gelato for dessert. The banana bread was warm and comforting and the chocolate marscapone added great dimension to it. The vanilla gelato tasted quite lovely with it too. Overall, great little place for a small bite!
