Our big Thanksgiving dinner yesterday went off without a hitch. All the food was ready in time, the turkey was FANTASTIC (hubby said that even the white meat was quite juicy while he was carving it), and we have WAY more leftovers than I thought we would have.
The new recipes that I tried this year were a big hit; everyone really enjoyed the new stuffing recipe that I used. The pears and cranberries gave a nice little sweetness to the stuffing without being too overpowering. Plus, it tasted fantastic using stale bread cubes, which I prepared the day before (as opposed to croutons...guess I'll just pulverize those for breadcrumbs). The lemon-glazed carrots were quite nice as well; the lemon with the dill tasted quite lovely with the sweetness of the carrot. Finally, the apple crumble was AMAZING. I'm used to apple crumble made without oatmeal, but this crumble had the perfect balance of oatmeal to crumbly goodness. The ice cream helped too. :) I'll be sure to share the recipe once I have a chance to type it up.
Enjoy the pictures below, have a great week and happy cooking all!
