Where to even begin?! Number one, of course, is Little Miss Nugget. She is now 5 and half months old, and is turning into a real little person with lots of personality. She keeps me pretty occupied, but at least she's been taking naps again (finally), and that allows me to have some time for myself (read: free hands!). I've been taking her to story time at the library, and the last session was the first time that she was really enjoying the little songs and motions that go with. She was still asleep for the first half, but hey, small victories! :) I also take her to Baby Zumba, which is more of a workout for me than her. It's great exercise (my former days in dance has enabled me to catch on to the routines pretty quickly) and I get to socialize with other moms. I've been slowly trying to establish more of a daytime routine with her, and so far, so good.
Number two? Finding a new home! We started looking way back in March, and finally found some time at the end of August to look at some more houses. Our first viewing of the day ended up being our new home, but not without a few bumps along the way. Our offer was initially rejected, but the owner then gave us a counter-offer, which we accepted. It was basically dependent on our condo selling before the end of September. We had six viewings in total once we were ready to show it. We ended up selling within ONE DAY of listing it, and the rest is history. :) We moved on Halloween and have been enjoying the house life ever since. I'm ridiculously excited to have a house to decorate for Christmas (which will be soon!).
Another reason we had to unpack and organize so quickly? I was crazy enough to host a Steeped Tea housewarming! One of my girlfriends from work became a consultant a few months ago, and she hosted a party at her place in the summer. I became an instant fan, and am completely in LOVE with their teas. I've always loved tea, but only recently began the foray into loose leaf teas. DavidsTea is pretty good, but I've found most of their teas hit or miss. The consistency of the flavors from Steeped Tea has been pretty bang on with all the teas that I've tried (my favorites right now are vanilla dream, coconut calypso and sami sweetheart), and I recently acquired one of the no-drip mod pots that I am SUPER excited to use. The party itself was lots of fun; the little miss ended up having a nap for the last half. :) We tried lots of different teas, two which I chose to try (razzle dazzle raspberry rooibos and toasted almond, both of which I will be ordering soon). Below is a picture of all my goodies from the party!
We have still been doing the weekly meal plan, but I haven't been able to take pictures as much as I'd like to. Honestly? Little Miss Nugget has been the main subject of my picture taking lately. We have slowly been settling into more of a routine, so I may be able to start doing weekly posts again. Enjoy the rest of the week and happy cooking all!
