The magazine has several features that I look forward to: inserts of short recipes for dips, snacks, & pancakes, themed meals (Indian, Italian, Mediterranean), and my favorite: weekday meals. The weekday meals section has about 10-ish different main dishes, and 3-4 side dishes that can accompany them, all simple dishes that can be made during the week. Some of the recipes that I've tried are vietnamese noodle soup (a simple version of pho), watermelon & cucumber salad (very refreshing summer salad), and one of the meals from this week: moo shu pork.
I've actually never eaten moo shu pork until the first time that I tried this recipe. My only other knowledge of the dish is Kyle McLaughlan's character on Sex in the City saying "More moo shu for my moo shu?" to Kirsten Davis. :) This version from the magazine is ridiculously easy to make (though the pork tenderloin might set you back a bit), and very tasty as well. I have yet to use it with shitake mushrooms (I've been just using regular mushrooms instead), but it's still very tasty. Happy cooking!
